Mr Fool
Don´t worry Cofty, I don´t believe in hell, I´m just open for the possibility of it.
Please don´t tell us that you are a believer?! (believing that hell does not exist)

Are Believers Truly Humble?
by serotonin_wraith inif you are non religious, do you still feel those with religion show a higher level of humility than others in society?.
on the face of it, i feel most would answer in the affirmative.. but breaking it down, i find it harder and harder to accept.
in fact, i'd call it the opposite of humility.

Rev 20:14-15 "…… whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
What about bringing up a "hell discussion" to a JW like this?:
Mr Corious: -The "Lake of fire" must mean that Hell is a burning hot place?
Mr Arrogance: -No, it´s just symbolic.
Mr Curious: -Says who? Jehovah´s organization?
Mr Arrogance: -Yes!
-But what if they have wrong?
-They have not.
Mr Curious: -As they were wrong about Armageddon 1925 and 1975? Or that all young people 1969 would not grow old? Or that people who saw the events 1914 shall see the end of this wicked world?

Do You Think The Witnesses Actually Know What They Believe In?
by minimus ini think they know what they don't believe in, like no blood, no hellfire, no trinity....but they really couldn't explain what their beliefs are and why they believe as they do.
do you agree?

I agree Fernando, the more simple questions (best is "yes" or "no"quests) the better.
For example; "-The Watchtower tells us to believe. Do you believe or do you know that the Bible expresses the truth from God Jehovah?"
(The thing is, if you believe, you admit that you have not full confidence and not totally sure. On the other hand, if you know, you don´t need to believe)

ever had an out-of-body experience?
by poppers inonce in a while, usually in the morning shortly after waking up, i find my "body" lifting up from my physical body, but i remain attached at the head.
it's a very pleasant experience but i wish i could totally separate from the physical body so i could go exploring.
this happened this morning again.. .

I have two ways to have an out-of-body-experience:
1. I wake up mentally in a dream, realizing that I´m dreaming (like a lucid dream) but with a higher clarity, understanding that my physical body is asleep in the bed. Once I mentally wake up I can float, fly and vist places with will.
2. The second method is to let the physical body fall in sleep (optimal time is early mornings when the physical body is realxed and almost rested) and let the mind remain awake. For example focus on something, it can be my breathing or a mental walk in a familiar area.
One of the signs that I'm very close to "get out" is a kind of vibrating sound that can almost paralyze the body. I know many that recognize this sound/electric experience bur they have not been aware their mind are very close to leave their physical body.
I can get "spiritually high" several of days after a strong experience. So, efter all, JW are more close to this then they understand (a hint; the name of one of their magazines) . All anyone need to have (for this experience) is awareness, a calm mind and to be mentally Awake!
Like I said, lucid dreams are very similar, but in a lower level of clarity, somewhere between an OOB-experience and a normal dream.
I know people who claim to have seen and talked to their dead relatives, seen fragments of past lifes and so on. I have not fonfirmed that myself,
but the reality of the experience is something extraordinary, ways better than anything else I have experienced in this physical world.
For a JW this is occult and "is trongly influenced by Satan". For me it´s awareness in its most lovely form.

I have had OOB-experiences many times, often on a hihgher level of reality than I have here.
Is it not the divine Watchtower society who claims it´s not possible to leave our physical body before death?!?
I can prove for myself that they are 100% wrong.

They say that their belief is on a higher level than just believing: they KNOW, it´s a feeling of knowing.
It´s interesting that they see the way to knowledge like this:
1. Open minded for the bible
2. A conviction
3. A deep and untouchable belief
4. "divine" feeling of knowing. Finished!
That is scary.

1914, Generation doctrine belief change!
by Gill ini had the dubious pleasure of explaining the 1914 generation change doctrine to a relative who has been a jw for all of his life the other day.
he didn't even know that there had been a generation change and that the wt was no longer claiming that those alive in 1914 would still be alive when armageddon struck.. however, he said he would only believe me if i could tell him the exact date of the watchtower that explained this change.. though i know it is 1995, i do not know the exact date/issue and he refused to research it claiming it would show lack of faith on his part if he questioned his beliefs....but he said he would look it up if i told him which issue it was.. so, please, could anyone direct me to the exact issue in which this world shattering event was revealed?.
i remember, many jws, especially elderly ones being shocked at this revelation, but obviously this particular relative was not concentrating at the time!!
